Dean Matthew Wilkins was blessed! His name is official!
It was a wonderful blessing and I am so thankful for all the family that was able to attend. My entire immediate family and inlaws were there except for Max's family and Darci's husband Paul. It's a wonderful thing having family together. We blessed him at our church building at noon and had a lunch together at Sariah and Matt's home afterwards.

Danny lost his voice this last weekend. Two days before the blessing. The funny thing is that a few weeks ago he kept feeling the urge that he would like to have his father Dean bless our son. Then he lost his voice and so it seemed meant to be. Grandpa Dean gave little Dean a beautiful blessing and it was a special experience having him do it. The most prevalent thoughts or feelings I had during the blessing was the closeness to his heritage and the closeness of his family here on this earth. We are all working so hard together to bring us all together. He was blessed to stay close to me, his mother, and to teach and be teachable. To share with his family and find joy with us. I have thought many times that Dean is a teacher. That he would teach me so much. It's interesting that I had those feelings as his mother, just looking at him. And then he was blessed with those things. I love the workings of the spirit. It is an amazing thing to see your little baby boy surrounded by all the men you love whom hold the priesthood. Almost all of Dean's uncles, were there including his two grandpas and his daddy. What a wonderful thing!
The lunch was fun. It's always great to have family around and have fun together. Food was awesome! We spent most of the time at the table going through the pictures that I had organized for the inlaws. It was a big project, and though it is not done, I got a ton done! I was just giving them back all the pictures I had scanned and was done with. There were lots of laughs as we looked at pictures. And Grandpa Wilkins shared many stories from the pictures so we really enjoyed ourselves. It is fun to look back at history and remember all the fun times.
Little Dean we love you so much! You are such a joy in our lives. Your father and I are so blessed to have you and your brothers. You have a wonderful family on this earth. Always remember how blessed you are because of that. Many are born into a world of fear and insecurity and don't have family to turn to for support, laughs and love. You will always have all those things and much much more. More importantly you will have access to the knowledge of the plan of salvation, the atonement of Jesus Christ and a knowledge of His great love for you. We are so thankful to have the Priesthood on the earth and to know our plan here on this earth. We will always be together, forever, if we all do our part to return worthily, humble, repentant, and full of love for our family and all mankind. Thanks for coming to our family Dean. You will always be loved.
